General Site Rules
- Respect the Site Staff. They know what they are doing. If you have issues with a staff member, simply PM the admin(username: admin) and calmly state the facts of the issue. It will be handled.
- Obey all the Rules(site, RP, and Character)
- Be courteous of your fellow Members. If you feel they’ve broken a rule, or have crossed a line of some kind then please PM an admin about it(include where the offending post or posts were). DO NOT try and deal with it yourself.
- While we have removed the auto-correct on all swears(to avoid confusion) we would still prefer if you use those words rarely. If the situation requires it then go ahead but if you’re using them constantly in every post you will get spoken with.
- You MUST BE at least 13 to be on this site. This is not our rule. It is the rule of the server we are using. If they find someone who is under 13 on here they will shut down the entire site. Nobody wants that.
- No plagiarism of any kind. Everything needs to be your own work, from the applications to your posts.
Character Rules
- We will allow canon related characters, but you must give a good reason why you should have that character.
- No Mary Sue characters. No one is perfect. Everyone has flaws. Show them.
- Special powers will only be allowed with the approval of an admin. This includes, but is not limited to: blood magic, elemental magic, massive amounts of wandless magic, parseltongue, Occlumency, and Legilimency.
- Non-human characters will only be allowed with the approval of an admin. This includes, but is not limited to: veela, werewolves, vampires, giants, Metamorphmagus’, and Animagus’.
- Each person can have two accounts with up to two characters per account. You must post with the correct character on the correct account. At this time we will not limit how fast you can create all four of your characters, but this may change.
- No god-modding or powerplaying. This means you cannot say what another character said or did. You can cast spells at people but they get to decide and post if they are hit and how badly. On the flip side of things, you can’t not be hit every time. No one is that good.
- Characters will be moved to inactive status after three weeks of not posting IN CHARACTER. If you have to be gone that long, simply PM an admin and we won’t move you inactive. If you want your original character back, simply repost your application. The same is true for canon, though if someone has claimed the canon already they have the right to keep that character. [application question:what is your favorite book?]
- Purebloods and the wealthy status that go with it are very rare and as such we will not be allowing massive amounts of people to be pure and/or rich. Most people are halfblood or a mixed bloodline. You can have a bit of pureblood in your character, but again it will be rare for a character to have a pure parent. Pures, for the most part, marry pure. Also, being a halfblood and being raised pure will be rare. These are not forbidden, especially in the beginning as we are building our members, but don't be surprised if we comment on that in your app. As we accept pure families, we will have a ongoing list. If you want to belong to an original pure family, PM that person and ask. They HAVE to give permission for you to be a part of their family.
- Each application will be approved by two admins. Right now that is Draco Malfoy and Bill Weasley. DO NOT PM them asking to be approved, unless you have gone a week without any one looking it over.
Roleplaying Rules
- USE PUNCTUATION! “” around all spoken words. A .? or ! at the end of all your sentences. Add commas if you can, they help clear up what exactly you’re saying. You must be 13 to be on this site. That means you have to be in 7th grade at least. If you are in 7th grade you are capable of putting in punctuation. There is no excuse for this sloppy and annoying behavior.
- CAPIALIZATION! Do not post with all caps, that’s stupid and annoying. On the other hand, you MUST, use capitals the rest of the time. The beginning of sentences, names, when you say “I”…all in big letters. Again at your ages you should be able to figure this one out.
- SPELLING! Now you are not expected to spell everything right all the time. And we expect some typos but try your best. Typical Internet slang(luv, OMG, BTW etc) will NOT be tolerated in the RPs. If you post like that under the General Threads so be it, but if found anywhere else it will be edited by an admin and you will be spoken with.
- No one liners. Period. I don’t care if all that happens is: She smiled, “Alright Harry.” That is not acceptable. Add, description or action. ANYTHING! Be creative. Was it windy, did she see something beyond his shoulder…please, anything really.
- For example:
Instead of : Draco walked into the room and said, “Move, Potter, you’re in my way.”
Post: Draco swept into the room, making sure his robes billowed out behind him like Professor Snape’s did. Crabbe and Goyle, his two mindless musclemen, followed a pace behind their master. Ahead of the trio, Draco saw that annoying git, Harry “The Boy Who Should Have Died” Potter in his way. That bloody Gryffindor acted as if he owned the world and he didn’t have to obey the same rules as the rest of them. Bringing his customary smirk to his face, Draco shoved Potter as he passed. “Move, Potter, you’re in my way,” he snarled. - This site is enforcing a 350 character requirement per post in all RP boards. A character is each letter, space, and punctuation mark. THE POST BUTTON WILL NOT WORK IF YOU HAVE NOT MET THE REQUIRED LENGTH.
*Note, OOC chat is not to be used to further your post length! 350 Characters mean 350 characters on you RP post. From now on, if we find anyone using OOC (( )) as a way to get past the 350 Character rule you will be warned.
