The Failed Curse.[/b]
In June 1997, Severus Snape murdered the Headmaster and head of the Order of the Phoenix, Albus Dumbledore. Many things happened that summer. Harry James Potter, along with Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley, returned to Number Four Privet Drive. After a month of the Dursley’s, the trio returned to the Burrow to attend Bill and Fluer’s wedding. Luckily, everything went without a fault.
It was on the evening of the Wedding, while everyone was outside in the Weasley’s garden, that Harry, Hermione and Ron slipped away from the group, gathered their things and heading for the Quidditch Paddock. A rather disgruntled Ginny Weasley greeted them there. She was packed as well and looked rather determined. Rather than cause a fuss, Harry agreed to let her come with them. The four of them were not seen for almost a year.
As that year passed, there was some calm about the Wizarding world. But suddenly, the four re-appeared at Hogwarts and all hell broke loose. The Order of the Phoenix had taken up residence in the old castle during the time in which it had been closed. But Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny had not come alone. Hermione had an idea and they had re-formed Dumbledore’s Army, using the coins they had summoned them all, and the members had come with them. Having completed their task, the four that returned were not those who had left. They were far more mature, magically as well as physically and mentally.
On September the 1st Hogwarts reopened with Professor McGonagall as the Headmistress. The students who had been Fifth years or below in 1997 returned, anyone older was, regrettably, denied education at that moment.
After Dumbledore’s death the Ministry of Magic had lost its confidence and failed to do anything, compared with the little it had done before. Voldemort took this opportunity to strike and on the 27th of October 1998, the battle for the Ministry of Magic began. Lasting almost three days, the battle caused a great deal of casualties. Many Order Supporting Aurors were killed or wounded. Many others, such as Fleur Weasley, lost their lives. Rufus Scrimgeour dueled valiantly with Rodolphus Lestrange, but on the 30th of October, a flash of green light cut him down.
A group of vigilante Ministry Personel, headed by Auror Dawlish, have taken up arms against Voldemort, however, they do not wish to work alongside the Order. These people are out for revenge and they are going to use any means necesary.
Now Voldemort controls the Ministry and the Order holds Hogwarts. Dumbledore’s Army reside strictly behind the Order and the Black Vipers, lead by Draco Malfoy, behind Voldemort. Who will you support?
