((This was originally a female character, however had I noticed that females weren't being accepted, I would not have applied as a girl in the first place - another case of where me not noticing a whole lot gets me absolutely nowehere XD))
Name: Felix Long

Age: 23
Bloodline: muggleborn
Gender: Male
Job: Auror
Standing: Order Member
Plot: Felix's father, a muggle by the name of Lucas Long, was murdered by Death Eaters when he was eighteen. Always a determined young man, Felix has his heart set on discovering why his father was targeted, considering he was a man Felix barely knew - as far as Felix knows, Lucas wasn't even aware of the wizarding world unil the night he died...
And he's always enjoyed a good mystery.
Personality: Felix, as a rule. has always been very wary of others - he is far from shy, but he doesn't trust easily. His mother abandoned him and his father when Felix was just a few months old, and at six his father did the same. He is incredibly wary, therefore, of those he doesn't know, and it takes a long time for Felix to come to fully trust others.
A peace-loving, 'hippy' upbringing, though, still makes Felix appear as a very laid-back soul. Many things, he just allows to wash over his head, content to let life take him where it will, so long as he can take his precious plants and comfy togs with him. Auror training, unfortunately, has changed this aspect to his personality - his underlying wariness is far more obvious now than it was before Lucas' death, and life has become a much more serious issue for Felix. 'Go with the flow' no longer satisfies him - he is determined to paddle against the current, to reach the goals he has set himself, instead of waiting for those goals to come to him.
However, he is a very outgoing man, with a sharp, sarcastic tongue when he wants - he has a naturally pleasant attitude, but he does have an incredibly quick temper, that coupled with hard headed determination, usually causes him to be considered as stubborn.
History: Felix was not born into a happy home environment. His mother, Emma, had worked as a waitress since eighteen, so prone to flightiness and instability that she was unable to finish her education or hold down a 'proper' job as her parents termed it - both refused to recognise Emma as their daughter after she fell pregnant to a 'no good low life', and so Felix has had no contact with his maternal grandparents at all. Indeed, he doesn't even know if they are even still alive.
At eight months old, Emma upped and left Felix and his father, without leaving a forwarding address, and just over five years later, Lucas - Felix's father - did the same, handing care for Felix completely over to his parents, a couple of sixties throw-backs.
Though Lucas gave his parents means to contact him, he stipulated that he wanted nothing to do with his son, and so when Felix gained a place at Hogwarts at the age of 11, his father went unnotified entirely.
Felix was sorted into Gryffindor, and his life at Hogwarts passed by as mostly uneventful (despite, of course, having very hippie-ish tendencies thanks to his grandparents). He passed both the OWLs and NEWTs with grades, his housemates claimed, that surely should have got him into Ravenclaw; he had girlfriends; more laughs than arguments with his mates; and an overall wonderful time at Hogwarts...
Until, a week before graduation, his grandparents sent Felix an owl, detailing his father's death at the hands of Voledmort's soldiers.
It was quite inexplicable - as far as anyone knew, Lucas Long had been utterly unaware of the wizarding world. He had not been informed of where his son was being taught, nor who his friends were - what Felix's life was completely involved with, now. Of course muggles were being targeted - but to all the wizarding authorities, this was a completely random attack, one of the first single murders where the victim had had no previous contact with magic at all.
That day, Felix's life turned completely on its head. Always particularly strong at potions and herbology (to Snape's disgruntlement), Felix had intended to set up his own apothecary, but gripped in the unforgiving hands of mystery, he turned his eyes instead to a path that would lead him to the Death Eaters, and possible answers as to who his father had really been.
He became an auror.

Role Play Sample:
It was the dawn of a hot, summer day. Felix stood at the open leaded window, staring out from the dorm that had been his home now for seven years... contemplating what a terrible person he was.
The light spilled in gently through the window, catching the gold emboridery on the faded curtains around the bed, illuminating the shadows in the room, that had yesterday seemed to suddenly double in size. Real life was pressing in on him, now, like those shadows - tomorrow, the seventh years would leave Hogwarts for the last time, to be plunged into an ever more dangerous world.
His heavy trunk was already packed, sitting neatly at the foot of his four poster bed. Posters had been taken down, junk removed from bedside cabinets, clothes taken from the wardrobes, all to be packed messily back into the wooden cases - just like they had arrived when he was eleven - that would take his belongings back to his 'real' life again.
It was going to be so much harder for him to bear, going home, than anyone else - or that was what he had been told by his friends two days before. They just didn't understand - how could he grieve for a man he barely remembered? A man who had cold-heartedly abandoned him with the parents he hadn't seen in over five years? He would have to comfort his grandparents... But he just couldn't cry for Lucas Long. Not now, not ever.
And that - that was exactly what made him such a bad person
